Welcome!

ANGELS ON HORSEBACK THERAPEUTIC RIDING PROGRAM provides recreational horseback riding lessons to individuals with mental or physical disabilities in Northwest Georgia. The physical and emotional benefits of riding a horse can be life changing. One student told me from her wheelchair that she couldn't wait to get back on her horse!

Illnesses that we are currently seeing are Spina Bifida, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Blindness, Speech and Hearing loss, Downsyndrome and varying degrees of Mental Retardation. The results are amazing. Children who cannot perform most physical or emotional tasks well, excel beyond belief when the connection between horse and rider happens. Parents and friends alike cannot believe the transformation that takes place. People who come to watch, sign up to volunteer. Come see how this program could benefit you or someone you know or love.

2008 brings some new and exciting changes and goals for AOH. After 3 years of being a NARHA Center Member, it is our time to become a Premier Accredited Facility. With accreditation we will naturally be a more credible facility, meet the high standards for safety in the industry, and further ourselves by the process of achieving this status. I am proud to be working toward this and even more so because so many of you will be working with me to make this important achievement become real.

- Leslie Elliott
