First of all, Tuesday lessons start up again tomorrow. During the summer months, Tuesday lessons will be in the MORNING instead of afternoons. Volunteers please arrive at 8:00 a.m. We’ll have lessons at 9, 10 and 11, finishing up a little after noon. Hope you can make it!

Paper Chase
The other announcement is regarding our Paper Chase fundraiser that was scheduled for Sunday, June 20th. That event will be postponed until sometime this fall. If you know of anyone who was planning to attend (but did not pre-register), please be sure to let them know that the event has been postponed until further notice. Chris Williams will notify those folks who have pre-registered. More details on that to follow.

Thanks for all you do to make Angels on Horseback such an awesome organization. We can’t do it without all of our dedicated volunteers!

<![CDATA[Fund Raising Success!]]>Tue, 25 May 2010 09:48:43 -0500http://www.angelsonhorseback.org/2/post/2010/05/fund-raising-success.htmlOn Saturday May 15
Tom Davis, Warren Leverett, and myself conspired to raid the AOH compost pile on a mission with intent to sell that black gold an raise cash! We bagged and sold at the Jasper, GA Farmers Market 31 bags (1500lbs) of Equine Organic Fertilizer at $6.00 per bag or 2 for $10.00. All..... Yes, I said all 31 bags were sold with an intake of $192.00 (some folks just couldn't help themselves and paid us more) all for the benefit of AOH students, horses and the general budget!

Friday May 21/ Saturday May 22
With great support from the Episcopal Church of The Holy Family in Jasper a band of brothers known in the parish as the "Holy Smokers" were successful in Barbecuing 300lbs of pork to raise a net $716.73 for the benefit of AOH! There are just too many guys to express individual thanks to so here goes to all "Holy Smokers" a big sloppy wet kiss from the horses and a huge hug from all the students, parents and volunteers at AOH!

Monday May 24
A heart felt thanks to Bruce Jones (operator of the biggest Kubota lawn mower on the planet) Andy Edwards (leader of the crew) from The episcopal Church of the Holy Family in Jasper for mowing the entire front and left pastures and also the top around arena and tack room area all in 4hrs! It was a very important day to continue the restoration of the top pasture that was re-seeded by Tom Davis and Leslie Elliott back in March. The entire property (minus the right hand pasture) has now been mowed and looks great!
