A "Bit" About NARHA

The North American Riding for the Handicapped Association, Inc. (NARHA) is a nationally sanctioned, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting safe, structured therapeutic equine activities throughout the United States and Canada. With an emphasis on safe, professional and ethical equine activities for individuals with disabilities, NARHA has established governing standards and uses these standards to certify instructors and administer accreditation to centers around the country. NARHA efforts also include seeking financial and equine donations, sponsoring community education and continuing certification programs, and supporting research initiatives.

Through its support of local, accredited centers and certified instructors, NARHA serves over 30,000 individuals with disabilities every year. NARHA also creates awareness of the therapeutic riding and other equine facilitated therapy, and its many benefits.
