Donors

For individuals with physical and mental disabilities, most of their lives are focused on what they can't do. Angels on Horseback is a non-profit organization that focuses on what individuals with special needs CAN do! At our facility, participants can:

Meet new people and make new friends;
Challenge themselves mentally and physically;
Enjoy fresh air and the beauty of nature;
Connect with animals that only show unconditional love;
Be surrounded by people who support potential and possibility;
Build a stronger sense of self and improve their self-esteem;
Learn new skills; and
Laugh, and have fun.
To provide these wonderful benefits to our participants, we need your help. Here's what you CAN do:

Volunteer: We need volunteers to teach lessons, tend to the horses, help with a special event, handle administrative duties, join our board of directors. For more information, visit the Volunteers section of our website.

Spread the word about our mission: Tell your friends, family and co-workers about the amazing work our organization does and the benefits it provides for people with disabilities. Encourage them to get involved.

Donate money: Donate a scholarship so that an individual can enjoy therapeutic benefits of equine interaction. Sponsor an event. Help with our operating expenses - we are always looking for assistance with our day-to-day needs.

Donate goods or services: An excellent way to help is to supply items like riding gear, stable equipment, refreshments for the participants, food for horses, etc.

For more information on how you can support our mission, please contact our administrative staff at 770.355.5726 or 770.893.1992 or e-mail us by using this contact form

A Wonderful donation to the program was in the form of 3 truckloads of M-10 for our arena foundation! This was graciously volunteered by Joe Kelly of Home Builder’s Asso. and Chuck Wigington of Wigington Contractors, Inc. These 2 men and businesses originally donated their time and talent a year ago when they graded the driveway, road, parking area and arena for our program. They donated this and an arena full of M-10 at that time, too. It is because of their generosity and so many others that we have had our first anniversary including 24 students, 16 Volunteers and of course, the very best volunteers, OUR HORSES!! Spread the word and give these generous men your business!

Through a generous grant donation, AMICALOLA ELECTRIC provided the Ramm Fencing materials for our arena. It is a heavy rubber material that gives 8” making it safer for volunteers and horses making it the perfect product for therapeutic riding. Come by and check it out. It may be just what you want for your pastures. Angels on Horseback THANKS you, Amicalola Electric, for making this possible for us to have for our program.

The Men's Breakfast Club from Holy Family Church:
Don Wells and the Mountain Stewards
Don Wells and the Mountain Stewards have developed a wooded Sensory Trail. It is one mile long consisting of unique stations along the trail. While riding on horseback, the students stop and experience each station using one of their five senses. For example, at one of the stations called The Rainforest, there are 15 swim noodles hanging from a plastic chain across the trail. At this station, they use the sense of touch.
